Biography
Dr Olivia Hollingdrake is a Registered Nurse, and Senior Lecturer with the QUT School of Nursing. Olivia’s research focuses on stigma and its impact on access to care for people experiencing marginalisation, including people living with HIV and women experiencing domestic and family violence. Olivia's research is grounded in community participation, underpinned by the principle that those living with health conditions must be involved in the development of research and policy that affects them. Olivia's doctoral research in Public Health (UQ) used qualitative methods to examine the impact of stigma and discrimination in healthcare settings for people living with HIV in Queensland. Her clinical experience spans complex and chronic conditions, including cancer, HIV, viral hepatitis and inherited bleeding disorders. Olivia’s research, teaching and practice interests align with a national and international agenda that seeks to address the social determinants of health and capitalise on personal, community and health service resources to achieve optimal health for all.Expertise related to UN Sustainable Development Goals
