Theresa is a lecture in the undergraduate and postgraudate programs in the School of Nursing, and a Visiting Nursing and Midwifery Education Fellow at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane. Theresa has extensive experience in the the clinical stream and provides guidance in the development, implementation and/or review of all clinical units across the undergraduate curriculum program. A significant proportion of her recent leadership roles has involved leading and facilitating a team approach in the implementation of the clinical and theoretical aspects of all undergraduate clinical units, this includes the development and support of clinical supervisors working in the clinical environment. Theresa’s extensive experience in the area of clinical supervision teaching and learning also involves the education of supervisors who support Students from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds (CaLD). In 2009-2010 Theresa (with colleagues) undertook development, implementation and evaluation of a professional development and capacity building program in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities to improve clinical teaching and develop clinical teaching models that meet the needs of Viet Nam nurses, universities, colleges and hospitals. Theresa’s success as a highly skilled, knowledgeable and adaptable educator is evident by the consistently positive feedback received through detailed participant evaluation processes.
