Associate Professor Heywood coordinates and teaches the following Urban and Regional Planning courses and units at the Queensland University of Technology:

  • Urban and Regional Planning Practice (projects on urban, regional, and community planning carried out in conjunction with state and local governments and communities)

  • Comparative Planning Theory

  • Planning and Environmental Ethics

  • Coordinator Community Practice Unit, QUT, 2003- oversight of joint work between local and state governments and communities and university staff and students throughout Queensland and in East Timor and Thailand.


Associate Professor Heywood is also involved in the supervision of Doctoral and Masters theses and graduate individual projects.
