Dr Nick Kelly is a Lecturer in Interaction Design at the Queensland University of Technology, in the School of Design. His research interests are focussed upon understanding design cognition and applying the findings to secondary education. His research also encompasses the design of online communities of teachers, and the underlying competencies needed by teachers to access them.


Dr Kelly was a 2018 Australian Endeavour Fellow at the University of Lleida, Spain. Dr Kelly is the co-author of Online Learning Networks for Pre-service and Early Career Teachers with Marc Clarà, Ben Kehrwald and Patrick Danaher. The author of over 75 academic publications, he has led several successive grants and held post-doctoral positions at the University of Sydney, the Pontifical University of Chile, the University of Southern Queensland, and Queensland University of Technology.


Dr Kelly is a member of the QUT Teacher Education and Professional Learning (TEPL) group. His website, Nick Kelly Research, lists his current research projects and outcomes.
