Biography
BackgroundDr Low completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Law and IT at the University of Queensland, and recently completed her PhD from QUT titled 'The Use of Technology to Automate the Registration Process within the Torrens System and its Impact on Fraud: An Analysis' in September 2008.
Dr Low started teaching in the School of Accountancy, QUT, in 2000, where she tutored in
- Business Law
- Law of Business Associations
- Law of E-Commerce.
She began tutoring in the School of Law, QUT, in 2003 in the following units
- Legal Institutions and Methods
- Legal Research and Writing
- Contracts B.
In 2007, she was co-unit coordinator of LWB 334 Corporate Law. Currently, she is the unit coordinator of BSB111 Business Law and Ethics.
Research interests
- Electronic contracts and electronic conveyancing
- The use of technology such as digital signatures in electronic contracting and electronic land transactions
- Security, fraud, allocation of liability, regulatory and governance issues relating to electronic conveyancing
- Information security governance and regulatory responses regarding information security practices such as the secure storage and use of personal information.
- Identity management and identity fraud - the management, regulation and governance of these issues from a Government, business and individual perspective.
