Biography

I started working life as a Registered Nurse, spent some time studying music, and explored my way into psychology and academia. Work life balance means juggling lecturing in counselling and supervision at QUT, a small private practice, a beautiful family, and two Italian greyhounds.

My first contract at QUT was in 1996 and since then I’ve been a tutor, research assistant and lecturer in the schools of Business, Nursing, and Psychology and Counselling. I have also worked professionally as a psychologist in community and corporate sectors. Since 2011 I have been engaged full time in the QUT Master of Counselling where I am lecturing, designing, supervising and coordinating the teaching and research program.

I am a registered psychologist and completed a PhD in 2010. In 2012 I completed the intensive Cambridge University CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
Research interests include: Counselling; Teaching and Learning Social Constructionism; Deafness and Hearing loss; Sign Language Interpreting and Supervision.
