I have 10 years experience as an Epidemiologist, with a PhD and MPH(TropHlth) from UQ. In 2010 I was awarded a UQ Dean’s Commendation for an Outstanding Research higher Degree Thesis.

I also have 18 years experience in Emergency Nursing and International Health, and have worked in both hospitals and remote health centres throughout Australia, NZ, and The Phillipines, and also with the Australian Red Cross/ICRC in East Africa (Kenya, Sudan and Eritrea).

My research interests include life-course epidemiology, psychiatric epidemiology and teaching evidence-based health care. Much of my research has been with a Brisbane-based longitudinal pregnancy cohort, the Mater-University of Qld Study of Pregnancy & its outcomes (MUSP);
