Teaching

Professor School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics at  QUT. My teaching style is engaging but challenges the students to think for themselves. I consistently achieve excellent student evaluations (average 4.3 at QUT) and have taught a number of topics within electrical and aerospace and software engineering and receive positive comments about my teaching delivery. My commitment to learning and teaching lies in the strong belief that students gain key skills by investigating open-ended problems that do not have one solution. This encourages peer  communication, thinking “outside the box”, and providing the opportunity to continuously question. I have taught the following units since being at USYD and QUT

  • Advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (2016-current )-Student evaluation of teaching scores  =  4.4/5.0
  • Systems Engineering and Design Project (2016-current)-Student evaluation of teaching scores  =  4.4/5.0
  • Advanced System Design-(2008-2018, 2019-current)  Student evaluation of teaching scores  =  4.4/5.0
  • Introduction to System Design (2010-2013)  Student evaluation of teaching scores = 4.4/5.0
  • Systems Design(2010-2012) Student evaluation of teaching scores  = 4.0 /5.0
  • Aircraft Systems and Flight Control(2007-2013) Student evaluation of teaching scores  >  4.1
  • Modern Flight Control (2007-2011)  Student evaluation of teaching scores  > 4.2

The University of Sydney:

  • Engineering optimisation (2006)  Student evaluation of teaching scores  > 4.0 /5.0
  • Aerospace Propulsion(2006)  Student evaluation of teaching scores  > 4.0 /5.0
  • Aerodynamics (2006)   Student evaluation of teaching scores  > 4.0 /5.0
