Biography

Elizabeth Streten teaches across contract law, insolvency and corporate law, commercial subjects and in civil litigation. Elizabeth completed qualitative empirical research in the completion of her PhD regarding corporate insolvency in Australia. Elizabeth’s research interested include practitioner perspectives on the practical difficulties faced by corporate insolvency practitioners in adhering to their legal and ethical regulation, and the intersection of insolvency regulation, technology, gender and responsive regulation. Elizabeth comes from over a decade practicing as a lawyer in commercial litigation and insolvency, including appearances across State and Federal Courts and as instructing solicitor in the High Court of Australia. Elizabeth has significant professional experience in insolvency litigation, banking litigation and commercial litigation together with general commercial law, gained through her position as a Senior Associate at Thynne & Macartney Solicitors. Elizabeth’s research looks to government policy, law reform and industry change at the intersection of commercial law, insolvency law and business.
