Dr David Long is a former Intensive Care and Extended Care Paramedic having worked in an operational capacity for 18 years in an Australian paramedic service. David is a strong advocate of paramedicine as a unique health discipline and the contribution paramedics make to a person’s healthcare journey. To that end, David’s PhD thesis examined the transition of qualified paramedics to a specialist role in community paramedicine and earned an Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award nomination at examination. Dr Long is currently a lecturer in the Paramedic Science program.
