2004-2012 – NSW Sugar Milling Co-Operative – Production Superintendent Broadwater Sugar Mill

Responsibilities include:-

Operations management of the site

Cogeneration boiler management and operation 70 Bar – 30 MW

Sugar mill operations for a sugar mill crushing up to 1.2 million tonnes of cane in 6 months

1996-2004 – NSW Sugar Milling Co-Operative – Assistant Production Superintendent Broadwater Sugar Mill

1994-1996 – NSW Sugar Milling Co-Operative – Single Shift Superintendent Harwood Sugar Mill and Refinery

With 20 years of processing experience David is currently one of thelecturers for the Process Engineering unit ENB363 Safety and EnvironmentalManagement.

He is also assisting in the discussion and direction of the development and refinement of the Process Engineer Syllabus

David has more than 20 years experience in the processing industry with the last 8 years prior to appointment at QUT as a site production manager.

This experience in the sugar processing industry has enable David to become one of the team that engages in international consultancies for sugar industry factory design and operation.

David is also an active lecture in industry based training courses that train people from Australia and around the world in sugar processing operations.
