Duties included: participating in project planning and design, responsible for all environmental issues, including land reclamation; supervision of in-house study teams and consultants; public liaison with regulatory authorities, municipalities, special interest groups, and First Nations; responsible for budgets, technical and status reports, hearings, and schedules for environmental planning.1978–1986 Regional Terrain Analyst: Kootenay Region, Ministry of Transportation and Highways, Geotechnical Branch, Nelson, British ColumbiaRole: Senior administrative position under the supervision of the Regional Director of Highways responsible for the development and reclamation of construction aggregate sources; assessment terrain hazards affecting the highway network within the region. Duties included: supervision of field drilling and geophysical crews, laboratory technicians, and office staff; establishing quality control for government contracts, maintaining a comprehensive resource inventory and data base for construction sources, and to interface with a variety of other ministries (Forestry, Fish and Wildlife) and the public for resource planning issues.
