Professor Louisa Coglan

Biography
Professor Louisa Coglan is an applied economist with over 30 years of experience. Her main research focus is on the measurement and assessment of economic and social values to inform decision-makers in the management of natural resources. She has also applied her expertise to other areas including health technology assessments. Louisa is the Program Lead for Behaviours and Decisions in Agriculture and Natural Resources in the Centre for Behavioural Economics, Society and Technology (BEST) a national and international research centre in applied behavioural insights and behavioural economics research.Louisa has an extensive record of innovative teaching and support of student learning from over three decades of teaching in HE. She has received learning and teaching awards and external commendations for her work in both the UK and Australia and is both a Senior Fellow and Indigenous Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) (an internationally benchmarked award in recognition of excellence in teaching leadership).
Louisa is President of the Queensland branch of the Women in Economics Network, a national network that was formed to promote and support the career of female economists in Australia. She is an advocate for women in economics and has an extensive experience in mentoring women economists in academia, the public sector and industry, providing practical support and guidance to develop the resilience to navigate the economic sector.
