Christina lectures in Journalism, Media and Communication in the Creative Industries Faculty and is an active media studies scholar and postgraduate supervisor. Christina teaches in the undergraduate Digital Media major at QUT. Christina has published internationally and  has led three industry-based, national research projects, competitively funded by the Australian Research Council. The most recent of these was a national study of the nascent Australian ‘co-creative’ media system, and its potential to contribute to building population-wide capacities for storytelling and creative expression. Christina’s professional background in Australian media and communications policy and radio journalism is reflected in her community engagement as the current chair of the Community Media Training Organisation, a Registered Training Organisation that supports social and formal learning in the community media sector. Christina also has an enduring interest in ‘media-on-media’ and edits 3CMedia: Journal of Community, Citizen’s, and Third Sector Media. Her book, Advertising and New Media, was published by Routledge in 2008.
