Biography

Brian started as Professor of Journalism, Media & Communication within the Creative Industries Faculty in September 2010. His previous institutions include Strathclyde, Stirling and Ulster. He studied at the University of Glasgow. His research and teaching interests include journalism, political communication and mediated sexuality.

Experience

Brian is a regular media commentator across print, online and broadcast platforms. He has written more than 400 commentary articles for publications including the Guardian, The Conversation, The Age,The Herald and Scotland on Sunday. He appears regularly as an expert commentator on the ABC, Sky News, BBC and other outlets.
