Dr Angela Watson (BAPsych(Hons); MHS, PhD) is a Senior Research Fellow supported by a Motor Accident Insurance Commission funded research fellowship within the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q). She is currently working on road safety data linkage projects in collaboration with Transport and Main Roads, Queensland Health, and the Motor Accident Insurance Commission. She has worked on a wide range of projects in the areas of young drivers, older drivers, moped and scooter safety, drink driving, unlicensed driving, and speeding penalty changes/speeding recidivism. Angela has experience in the analysis of large crash, offence, and administrative health data sets. Angela’s PhD project aimed to assess the quality of current sources of transport-related injury data and to assess the linkage opportunities that exist within Queensland in order to provide a more comprehensive picture of transport-related incidents and the resulting injuries. Angela is also currently working on the Austroad’s national road crash data linkage project “A National Approach to Measuring Non-Fatal Crash Outcomes”. She provides data analysis and methodological support to staff and postgraduate students at CARRS-Q.
