I am descended from the Tagalak people of the Gulf Country of Far North Queensland. I have worked in First Nations education through my career, starting as a high school teacher and moving into community-led education initiatives. I explore online and digital learning spaces to further First Nations education. I work in Initial Teacher Education, enabling pre-service teachers to increase their awareness of First Nations prespectives and develop appropriate collaborative approaches for working with our intellectual and cultural heritage. My vision is for all students in Australia to learn about and through the two knowledge traditions of this continent – First Nations and Anglo-Australian – to create a future that respects and empowers this Country and its many peoples.
