Biography
Ajesh Singh is a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Medical Imaging CS48 (Honours) program at QUT. He completed his Masters degree in Distance Education at Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada in 2013. His capstone project was “Demonstration of key learning competencies using e-portfolio”. He completed his Bachelor of Medical Imaging from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia in 2005. Ajesh also holds a Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology from Mohawk College, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada completed in 1999.In 2015 Ajesh joined QUT and took over the unit coordination of CSB036 Medical Imaging Methods. Since then he has led and assisted in various units in the CS48 program from year 1-4. Currently, Ajesh is the unit coordinator of CSB036, CSB041, CSB056, CSB063 and CSB071.
Prior to joining QUT, Ajesh taught at Mohawk-McMaster Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) in Medical Radiation Sciences in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for 10 years. He also served as the Program Coordinator from 2013-2014 and was instrumental in obtaining full accreditation compliance for the his program from the Canadian Medical Association. The compliance was granted for 6 years. During his term at IAHS Ajesh revised and delivered a number of undergraduate units in the MRSc program. He also served as the Radiation Safety Officer from 2006-2009.
Ajesh also served on the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) exam writing and review committee from 2009-2012. His role was to write and review questions for the board exam on Computed Tomography, Digital Imaging, Quality Control in Radiography, Physics and Instrumentation.
Ajesh’s professional career as a medical imaging technologist began in 1999 when he was hired at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, Ontario, Canada. He gained experience as a technologists by working in various areas such as the emergency department, operating theatre, gastric, CT, interventional radiography, mobile radiography, fracture clinics, and out patients from 1999-2005.
He also taught Sabeto Secondary School, Nadi, Fiji Islands from 1991-1995 where he served as acting head of department for Social Science from 1993-1995.
Ajesh’s research interest lies with improving the quality of units delivered in MRS to improving the quality of diagnostic services provided in hospitals and radiographic clinics across Australia and in the developing world such as the South Pacific islands. His special interest is in researching ways to improve diagnostic education for radiographers, technology upgrade and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of medical imaging.
