Biography

A flourishing early career researcher, Dr Yang has already established herself internationally in the field of fractional differential equations. Most recently she has been granted an ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award for the years 2015-2018.  Her 2010 PhD thesis was awarded the QUT Outstanding Thesis Award on the recommendation of two leading international experts in the field, Professor Igor Podlubny and Professor Om Prakash Agrawal. Dr Yang regularly publishes her work in high impact journals, including the Journal of Computational Physics (impact factor 2.851), SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing (impact factor 1.95), Computers & Mathematics with Applications (impact factor 2.069),  Applied Mathematical Modelling (impact factor 1.706), and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (impact factor 3.571). She has an H-index of 12 (Google Scholar) and more than 400 citations since 2011.

Her research interests include

-          mathematical modelling of the heterogeneity of brain tissue using MRI data

-          mathematical modelling of brain tumor growth using fractional models

-          numerical solutions and analysis of fractional partial differential equations
