Experience

Professional Experience: Steven has had over 20 years experience in the Pathology industry.  Prior to his accepting his current position with QUT, he was the Scientist Second-in-Charge of Clinical Chemistry at Mater Pathology.  Steven maintains a high level of industry engagement.  Locally he is the current Queensland Branch Chairperson of the Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB), nationally he is the Queensland Representative on the AACB National Council and internationally as a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) “Clinical Laboratories and the Environment” initiative.  Steven is also a NATA Medical Testing Technical Assessor.

Technical Assessor (Chemical Pathology) - medical testing accreditation program. The medical testing accreditation program is administered by NATA in conjunction with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). Medicare rebates for eligible pathology tests are only available to laboratories holding accreditation in this field.
