Teaching

Over his career, Ian has supervised 8 postdoctoral fellows, 7 research associates, acted as principal supervisor for 15 PhD students, 3 Masters by research students and has acted as associate supervisor for more than 25 students.

Many of his past students have now obtained academic positions at universities in the UK, Sri Lanka, China, and Australia, and have received significant academic success, e.g. a Rhodes scholar recipient and a University of Oxford DPhil program graduate.

Professor Turner’s undergraduate units regularly top the list in the School’s formal survey responses from students.
