Biography
Background Dr Carol Reid has many years of research experience and is currently lecturing with QUT’s School of Nursing in the area of research and evidence in nursing practice. She is an early career academic who has made significant contributions to the field of knowledge regarding self management of chronic diseases. Dr Reid has been successful in applying for competitive grants and is currently developing a psychometric measure to test patient-reported outcomes in cancer care. This research is complementary to previous research she has undertaken to increase understanding of effective patient outcomes.Industry Research Activities Dr Reid is currently working with the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital on research that involves: Assessing alcohol use and a brief intervention for people with chronic viral hepatitis (B and C): A randomised controlled trial; and, Motivational Interviewing and a brief intervention for people with end stage kidney disease undergoing dialysis at home to improve self-care: A randomised controlled trial.
