Biography

Brad Millard is Study Area Coordinator for the Music and Sound Discipline in the Creative Industries Faculty at QUT. He has coordinated numerous core units within Music and Sound such as Music Performance, Principal Study and Principal Group Activity and has coordinated and taught a number of academic units of study.

He has been Production Coordinator for several showcase events for Music and Sound and has initiated and lead several tours both within and outside Australia for the QUT Big Band of which he is Musical Director.

He is the Academic Representative on the Creative Industry Faculty Advisory Committee and has been actively involved in curriculum design within Music and Sound.

Brad’s Master of Arts had an educational focus through the teaching jazz and popular music style to young instrumental musicians. Prior to his QUT appointment, Brad was an active professional freelance musician where he worked across a range of genres and styles.

He is an examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board and has been twice the Instrumental and Vocal Examiners’ Representative on the AMEB’s Queensland Advisory Committee.
