Biography
BackgroundBoon Lee commenced his career in the School of Economics and Finance in 1999, having completed his PhD from the University of New England in the same year. He teaches economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research interests focuses on eco-efficiency, efficiency and productivity analysis. He has published in international journals including Journal of Development Economics, Energy Economics, OMEGA, Economics of Education Review, Journal of Productivity Analysis, Agricultural Economics, Ecological Economics, Journal of Transport Economics and Policy; Land Use Policy, Food Security and Applied Economics. His research on efficiency and productivity change in Australian universities, published in Economics of Education Review, was discussed in The Australian. In 2009, he was invited to participate in a public hearing of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics on inquiry into raising the level of productivity growth in the Australian economy. In 2018, he became a certified facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials. In 2023, he authored a book entitled Productivity and Efficiency Measurement of Airlines: Data Envelopment Analysis using R published by Elsevier Science, Cambridge, US.
