Biography

Background

Dr Kerri-Ann L. Kuhn is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the QUT Business School. She holds a PhD in Marketing, Masters of Marketing Management with Honours, Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice, Bachelor’s degrees in International Business and Commerce, as well as Diplomas in Japanese, Export Management and Market Research. Dr Kuhn has an established publication record in international journals and conferences, and was named one of the top 25 downloaded Australian/ New Zealand scholars by Emerald Publishing in 2011. She was formerly Australasia Editor of Journal for Advancement of Marketing Education and serves on the international Editorial Boards for Journal of Brand Strategy and Journal of Digital and Social Media Marketing. Dr Kuhn is the recipient of several awards, including an Australian Award for University Teaching, Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. Dr Kuhn has marketing management and consulting experience, having worked in industry with technology companies operating in the B2B sector.

Research focus

Dr Kuhn’s research focuses on developing a better understanding of the effects of various marketing phenomena on consumer behaviour, with particular emphasis on examining consumer responses to different interventions, tested using experimental research designs. Working in the parent disciplines of branding, consumer behaviour, marketing communications and marketing education, a consistent theme across Dr Kuhn’s research is a focus on technology and its influence on people.

Teaching

Overview

Dr Kuhn is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and member of QUT’s Higher Education Research Network. She has more than 10 years teaching experience and her courses at QUT have been commended by international accreditation review teams from AACSB and EQUIS for their enhancement of student learning. Her teaching innovations have attracted grant funding, media exposure and industry attention, and have been recognised with publications in top tier journals, as well as guest presentations, including at other leading international business schools. Dr Kuhn is the recipient of several awards and commendations for teaching.
