Biography
Rebecca has a background in counter-terrorism, law enforcement, and protective security. Previously a Senior Analyst within the Queensland Police Intelligence, Major Events and Counter-Terrorism Command, Rebecca gained valuable experience working in a heightened threat environment. She represented Queensland Police in the United Kingdom, gaining specialist counter-terrorism qualifications with the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office and Metropolitan Police.
Rebecca has since commenced her PhD, which examines policing siege methodologies and hostage negotiation in the context of a terrorist attack. She has also participated in research projects concerning organised crime, illicit tobacco, and social network analysis. Her work has been presented at the American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting and published in the Cambridge University Journal of Financial Crime.
Rebecca has been granted Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy and holds memberships with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Evidence-Based Policing and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology.
