Biography

Dr. Ho joined the QUT Business as a Lecturer in Finance in 2014. Prior to joining QUT he lectured at Massey University (New Zealand), Durham University (UK) and Purdue University (USA). He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance (Durham University), an MS in Finance (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), and an MA in International Economics (National Chung Cheng University). He is also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Dr. Ho’s research interests are primarily in behavioral finance and asset pricing. Currently, his research focuses on the role of investor sentiment in financial market anomalies and asset pricing. His research has appeared in journals such as Economics Letters and Journal of Banking and Finance. Dr. Ho received two Best Paper Awards, including the Best Paper Award in the 2011 NTU International Conference on Economics, Finance, and Accounting (IEFA) and the Research Paper Award in the 2008 annual meeting of the Securities and Financial Markets (SFM). Potential PhD candidates with programming skills who are interested in behavioural finance and asset pricing are particularly welcome to contact Dr. Ho to discuss their research ideas.
