Biography
Dr. Katherine Hanna is a lecturer in nutrition and dietetics within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. She graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) with first class honours in 2000 and returned to QUT in 2001 to begin postgraduate studies. Her PhD thesis investigated phytoestrogen status in relation to biomarkers of osteoporosis in women aged 40 to 80 years. Katherine has worked as a lecturer in higher education in Australia and the United Kingdom at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Katherine has extensive experience teaching in introductory food and nutrition units, food chemistry and technology, medical nutrition therapy, dietetics professional practice and clinical practice in individual case management. Katherine is teaching intensive however her main research interest examines the links between living alone, loneliness, food and nutrition behaviours and health outcomes. She has also undertaken research in teaching of nutrition and dietetics in the higher education setting.Personal details
