Biography

Background

Louise Grayson has extensive experience working in Corporate Communications/Creative Advertising, journalism and documentary photography/photojournalism. Louise began her research in the area of photojournalism when, aged 19, she traveled solo through the then Baltic States, Russia, Siberia and China. On this sojourn from her university studies in journalism and international politics, Grayson discovered a fascination for the photographic medium. Today, she has traveled to more than 20 countries across the globe in response to her ongoing passion for exploring international issues and documentary photography.

Concurrent to this research, Louise has worked as a journalist and corporate communications/creative advertising executive . She now a lecturer in the Art and Design Discipline and is Study Area Advisor for the Masters in Creative Advertising.

She has been awarded a Bachelor degree in journalism and international politics and a Masters in visual arts. She is currently completing a PhD in documentary photography.

Teaching

Louise Grayson draws on her extensive experience working in corporate communications/creative advertising to undertake her current role as study area advisor for the Masters in Creative Advertising. She has successfully implemented creative campaigns for clients in Brisbane and Sydney. This industry experience is echoed in her approach to teaching and augmented by ongoing research in the area of visual communications/documentary photography.
