Master of Science in Social Science of the Internet (University of Oxford)


Stefanie is a PhD candidate at QUT’s Digital Media Research Centre. She holds an MSc in Social Science of the Internet from the Oxford Internet Institute and a BASc in sociology and psychology from the University of Lethbridge. Her research focuses on the everyday identity expressions and interactions of people with diverse sexual and gender identities on social media. She is particularly interested in the way that sexual and gender identities are constructed, shaped, and received across platforms, with attention to the influence of both users and platform dynamics. Stefanie is an active member of QUT’s Social Media Research Group. Her work has been published in New Media & Society, Disability & Society, and the Canadian Review of Sociology.
