Biography
Tim Donnet is a Lecturer at QUT Business School’s School of Management, with broad research interests in the area of Governance. His research focuses mainly on the identification, advocacy and protection of strategic and public values – particularly in the context of airports and aviation. Recent research has extended Tim’s expertise in Social Network Analysis to investigate the public, private and government networks that underpin nutrition policy making in Australia, resulting in journal articles published in world-leading health journals (including Obesity Reviews and Public Health Nutrition). Current research interests include interdisciplinary problems that span planning, governance, and business models that incorporate technology into decision making and operational processes. He has worked with Ballina Shire Council to consult on strategies for airport-centric economic growth, with the private sector to provide commercial research reports for improving decision making and policy agendas for aviation in Queensland, and with international collaborators to deliver a technical report for the Dutch Ministry for Transport. Tim teaches in the areas of management, public sector management, organisational behaviour, negotiation and risk management, and draws upon professional and research networks to engage guest speakers from industry in the classroom. Through innovative design and use of technology, Tim creates adaptive learning experiences for students that integrate online, face-to-face and project-based work, and has pioneered the use of avatar-based lecture content, livestreaming immersive Virtual Reality content creation for remote/online students, and a new teamwork peer assessment platform in business units at QUT Business School. Tim is also active in supporting research and industry engagement in the aviation sector by providing research liaison support to the Aviation Innovation Network - connecting aviation industry partners with research experts to provide expert advice and research on sector-wide issues.Personal details

Teaching
Teaching philosophy: I believe in keeping my classroom a caring, equitable and professional environment, where up-to-date academic thinking is placed within current, real world practitioner contexts via a range of interactive technologies and methods. Students are encouraged to become critical, reflective thinkers within my classroom; enabling them to identify the limitations of theories and concepts when applied to the real world.
