Biography
Matt Delbridge is a practising Scenographer and Visual Artist whose work has been featured both nationally and internationally.
Most recently, he was the digital scenographer for:
- UK national tour of Jonzi D’s Markus the Sadist
- UK/US premiere of Split Britches The Lost Lounge (London-New York).

Matt Delbridge’s research and practice is concerned with the immersion of the performer in technological environments and the associated dialogue conventions needed for performance makers to successfully navigate these scenographic landscapes.
To undertake this exploration and create interactive digtital scenography for the theatre and installation environments, Matt works with:
- Motion Capture systems
- live interactive video processing software
- virtual 3D environments.
He is currently involved in research projects with Joanne Tompkins and Richard Fotheringham at UQ, looking at the virtual representations of theatre environments and performance in early modern venues.

- 2008 – 2010: Technical Director – Drama Department – Queen Mary, University of London.
- 2006 – 2008: Studio Coordinator – Deakin Motion.Lab (the largest Performance Research Motion Capture Studio in Australia) – Deakin University.
- 1999 – 2006: Technical Director – Drama and Dance Department in the SCCA – Deakin University.
Qualifications
Matt holds:
- a BCA with Distinction from Deakin University
- a Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts from the University of Melbourne
Matt is currently enrolled in the PhD program at the Queensland University of Technology.
