Teaching

Ella has worked as a Sessional Academic for QUT since 2010. She has experience as a tutor, lecturer, and unit coordinator, and has contributed to curriculum design and unit content development, including new lectures, assessment design, revised unit materials, and tutorial programs. Ella has been involved in both faculty core and discipline specific units, and has taught a wide range of subjects in the School of Communication. Her teaching specialisations are in political communication, professional communication, project management, popular culture, and media studies, though she has also taught into other areas including creative industries, research methods, and digital media. Ella is a passionate and conscientious educator who consistently receives outstanding student feedback and peer evaluation results. She received a Creative Industries Faculty Award for Service (Media and Communication) in 2010, and was nominated for a Vice Chancellor’s Performance Award (Creative Industries – Sessional Academic) in 2013. Ella has completed both the QUT Teaching Advantage (2014) and Sessional Career Academic Development (2013) programs, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
