Measuring Success of Business Process Management initiatives: Business Process Management (BPM) is a rapidly adopted by organisations seeking to gain competitive advantage. Many forms of projects under the banner of BPM are emerging and millions of dollars are invested in such initiatives. However, there is also a growing concern, that has yet to be addressed; if BPM actually provides the benefits it promises. This study will design a model to measure the success of BPM initiatives. This measurement instrument will be used to measure the success of various BPM initiatives and to derive global benchmark standards of BPM practices.

Process of Process modelling: Organizations are increasingly reliant on business process modeling as a technique in support of streamlining organizational performance. Process modeling and process models can be highly consequential, resulting in the implementation of new processes, new organizational structures, and new IT systems. Information Systems (IS) success studies, explicitly and implicitly suggest the importance of process modeling, however process modeling research has mostly tended to focus on the syntactical and semantic aspects of process models, paying little attention to the process modeling project and factors which influence modeling success. This study is an extension to the Business Process Modeling success study where Management Support, Project Management, Modeler Expertise and Stakeholder Input were identified as the Critical success factors of Process modeling. While the prior study was limited to the identification of these factor, this study will build a set of tools and strategies as a means of achieving these critical success factors within process modeling projects. The details will be collected, analyzed and presented for each main lifecycle phase of a process modeling project, hence describing the process of process modeling in detail.

Building BPM expertise in practice: As organizations attempt to become more Business Process focused and oriented, managing their Business Processes accordingly, Business Process Expert roles are increasingly being introduced. Whilst great attention is being paid to the technological aspect of Business Process Management, relatively little work has been done concerning the People factor. This study is an extension of the BPM expertise study (where the characteristics of BPM Expertise and its fundamental attributes were reported as a normative model). The proposed study investigates how to identify, capture and continuously improve the BPM skill set in organisations.

Designing a BPM curricula: Business Process Management (BPM) is the term used to encapsulate a process-driven approach to attaining enterprise operational efficiency. Many recent business reports justify that process is perennial and as of recent years there is a significant increase in the demand for graduates with expertise in process modelling and management. Nevertheless, these topic areas are still a relatively novel concept in many university curricula. This study investigates how to best integrate these into existing Business and IT curricula.
