Michelle Backstrom joined the Law School as an Associate Lecturer in 2009. Prior to her appointment Michelle had been a sessional academic since 2000. She has taught extensively in the faculty tutoring in contracts, property law, legal research and writing, bankruptcy and law society and justice.
In 1991, Michelle was a solicitor at a national law firm before a move to Hong Kong where she taught property law in the School of Professional and Continuing Education at the University of Hong Kong. Michelle also worked as a research assistant in the Law Faculty of the University of Hong Kong.
Michelle has been the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Performance Award in semester 1 and semester 2 for 2008.
