Biography

Dr Cherie Allan completed her PhD (QUT) in 2010. She also has a MEd (USQ), BA(UQ) and a GradDip (TLib) from QUT. She is currently a lecturer in the School of Early Childhood & Inclusive Education within the Faculty of Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. She is coordinator (and lecturer) of four units on children’s & young adult literature and youth popular culture in the post-graduate and undergraduate programs. Her book, Playing with Picturebooks: Postmodernism and the Postmodernesque (2012), was awarded the International Research Society for Children’s Literature (IRSCL) Honor Book Award in 2013.
